Final Conference of the Shift2Rail CCA TER4RAIL Project held remotely on 19 November 2020
On 19 November 2020, the Final event of the Shift2Rail JU funded CCA TER4RAIL Project took place remotely. This event was organised together with the plenary meeting of the European Rail Research Advisory Council (ERRAC). It gave the opportunity to the project partners to present their results to more than 80 participants coming from the European railway community and beyond.
Funded under the Shift2Rail Joint Undertaking, TER4RAIL seeks to reinforce the cooperation between rail-related stakeholders to improve the efficiency of research in the rail sector, in order to facilitate emerging innovative ideas and the cross-fertilisation of knowledge from other disciplines.
TER4RAIL is coordinated by EURNEX, in collaboration with six other European partners from the UK, France, Belgium, Spain and Germany, namely: the Association of the European Rail Industry (UNIFE), the International Union of Railways (UIC), the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) , New Opera, and the Spanish Railways Foundation (FFE). The project is ending in November 2020.
When speaking about public transport being the backbone of urban mobility, rail deserves an honorary mention. Considered by many as the heart of public transit, rail has proven to be one of the most sustainable, comfortable and safe modes of transport available to us. Our railways enable economic development and create employment, they connect places and people.
